WV Raman

WV Raman is a former Indian cricketer and current coach of the Indian women’s cricket team. He made his Test debut for India in 1987 going on to play in 11 tests and 27 One Day Internationals. During his career his most notable feat was becoming the first Indian to score a century in South Africa which he did in 1992.

He began his coaching career in 2006 with Tamil Nadu and in 2008 the side won the domestic one-day tournament. He has since gone on to coach Bengal, the Indian U/19 team and as an assistant with Kings XI Punjab and Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League. In 2019, he was appointed the head coach of the India women’s team and led them to 2nd place in the T20 World Cup.
