Katey played Ice Hockey at College where she was also an All American in Lacrosse.
In 1994 she became Head Coach of the Harvard women’s Ice Hockey team has lead them to more than 500 wins, making her one of the most successful coaches in the history of Division I women’s ice hockey.
In all she has led the team to six ECAC Tournament Championships, 12 Beanpot trophies, six Frozen Fours, and one National Championship.
She also coached the USA Women’s team to gold at the 2013 world championships and a silver medal at the 2014 Olympics.
In addition, she was voted the Ivy League Coach of the Year in 2022 and in 2020 awarded as Boston’s Most Influential Women.
