Our great coach on this episode is Tara Ann VanDerveer.

Tara is a retired American basketball coach who led the Stanford Women’s basketball team for 38 years. In that time she led the Cardinals to NCAA championships in 1990, 1992 and 2021 and 13 final fours. In 1996 she also led the US national team to the gold medal at the Atlanta Olympics. In january 2024 she surpassed both Path Summit and Mike Mike Krzyzewski as the winningest coach in college basketball history. Eventually retiring with a record of 1218 wins at a ratio of 81.8%.

Tara was voted the Naismith National coach of the year on 3 occasions and the Pac 12 coach of the teas on 18 occasions. She was inducted into the Women’s Basketball Hall of fame in 2002.
